The Green Project

The Friends of Energy House 2.0 have sponsored The Green Project to provide children with knowledge of sustainability, provided by academics from the University of Salford, which will result in a School’s Green Summit Event.
The competition for schools (Years 5 & 6 in the Trafford area) to participate in the Green Summit Event, has now closed and submissions are being considered; those selected will take part in the children’s ‘COP 27’ event at Sale Waterside on Thursday 4 May 2023 at 16:15.
There are three separate schemes, developed by Specialist Leaders in Education (Literacy), each containing four lessons. Schools may choose to use separate schemes for different classes or may decide that they would like use all three schemes with one or a number of classes. The lessons are generic but self-explanatory. It is intended that teachers can teach straight from the scheme or that they may like to make slight amendments, depending upon the requirements of their class.
Information is provided directly by academics from the University of Salford, in the STATS’ and FACTS sheet. This is also supported by individual videos on the four areas of sustainability:
- Housing
- Recycling
- Nature
- Transport
An explanatory video, explaining ’sustainability’ is also provided by a Salford University academic.
